In Malaysia, it is also common practice for Manufacturers to integrate the Real-time SPC Software with their ERP Software e.g. SAP, Oracle, Baan, Glovia, BPCS etc for seamless data exchange related to quality control.
The benefits of doing so are:
- Product Specifications, which is already available in the existing ERP software, do not have to be re-keyed in into the Real-time SPC Software. In addition, any revision in Product Specification will be automatically updated in the Real-time SPC Software.
- QC and SPC Information from the Real-time SPC System will be transferred back in real-time to the ERP System. With accurate and timely QC and SPC Information, the ERP System will be able to decide whether to release or hold a Production Lot at any stage of the manufacturing process, including whether to hold or release a shipment to customers. This practice will significant Reduce Customer Claims, Increase Machine Utilization and Reduce Scraps and Reworks.
